Della Mortika is a steampunk world focussing on three inventive, intelligent and resourceful girls as they search for their missing parents in a strange, dark and exciting new city.
Abigail, Beatrix and Zarah Della Morte, find themselves stuck in the Skipping Girl Orphanage in Steampunk Melbourne - a mysterious world full of machines, villains and dark gothic beauty. The normal line of history is altered in this world and while some parts appear old fashioned, others appear strangely futuristic. This world is archaic and advanced, Dickensian and Orwellian, elegant and spooky. The sisters themselves are vastly different, working best when they band together. This project has been developed as a TV series with initial development funding from ScreenACT as part of their Project Pod initiative. The TV series also won the Holding Redlich Pitching Competition at SPAA in 2011. |
